Journalists that were working together established Ejo Youth Echo in 2006; at first they published a print magazine. 3 years later, they continued with broadcasting a youth radio program on an international radio Voice of America.

In 2013,
they decided to create an NGO with provisional permit to work in Rwanda and had a final legal personality early 2016.
