Local Public Speaking and Exchange (PSE) Finalists Head to Regional Event in Huye

In an inspiring showcase of talent, courage, and critical thinking, young people across Rwanda have stepped up to tackle peacebuilding challenges through the Public Speaking and Exchange (PSE) program an initiative that empowers youth in the Great Lakes Region to reflect, exchange ideas, and propose real-world solutions for sustainable peace.

This year’s Local PSE selection process brought together students from 10 media clubs across the country. Facilitating teachers were invited to guide their clubs through the PSE theme, encouraging thoughtful discussion and reflection. Each club then selected one outstanding student to deliver a 5-minute speech, which was recorded and submitted for evaluation by our team.
After reviewing all 10 powerful presentations, we are proud to announce the three students who have been selected to represent their schools at the Regional PSE event in Huye:
- GS St Aloys Rwamagana
- GSOB
- ES Regina Pacis de Tumba
These students impressed the selection panel with their compelling messages, clarity of thought, and confident delivery showcasing how youth voices can lead dialogue and inspire change.
In recognition of their exceptional support and guidance, two outstanding teachers have also been selected to attend the regional event:
- From Kayonza Modern School
- From GS Mugambazi
Their dedication to empowering young minds and fostering a culture of peace through media and public speaking has been instrumental in the success of this year’s local PSE program.
The upcoming Regional PSE in Huye will be a vibrant platform for dialogue, idea exchange, and collaboration bringing together students and educators from across the region who are passionate about peacebuilding and youth leadership.
As we move forward, we remain committed to creating more opportunities for young Rwandans to speak up, lead, and shape the future of their communities—because peace begins with dialogue, and dialogue begins with youth.
